To The Beale family on 70 years at WLP March 1945 to March 2015 – Trevor, Andrew and Ashley (7th, 8th and 9th generations) planted a giant redwood at WLP in celebration of this milestone.

To Wayne Turner (Executive Chef Beales Hotels) and the WLP kitchen team on their hygiene award of Five Stars (out of five) by the local EHO. At BH, Head Chef Scott Whitehead already has the same award.

Bedroom 23

New Reception Chairs

Bedroom 70 chairs

The refurbishment of Bedroom 23 is now complete at WLP – a fine improvement to this classic double/twin bedroom.

New chairs now grace the reception foyer at WLP.

New chairs have also been delivered to Bedroom 70 at WLP – a great improvement to this executive double/twin bedroom with sofa bed.

Valerie Beale has passed away, aged 100. She has been closely associated with the firm ever since her marriage to John Beale in 1939. She loved West Lodge Park which she knew for 70 years, and particularly enjoyed hearing all the news about the company. She will be much missed by all at Beales Hotels, and we extend our deepest sympathies to Susan, Bob, John, Peter, Sally and Lucy.

Enid Gray has passed away, aged 93. Enid worked at Hatfield Lodge Hotel for many many years, and although she was nominally in the kitchen, she was one of those people who could turn their hand to any department. A gracious lady, who always had a good word, and a smile no matter how busy she was. She will be much missed by all who worked with her.

New furniture has been delivered to TalkBar at BH – we were missing some comfortable chairs and tables to eat at, and this is a very smart solution. [top left pic]

New chairs have been installed in the Outsidein Restaurant at BH – making it even more comfortable than before. [bottom left pic]

Chestnut Lodge Corridor at WLP has received a makeover with a smart new paper and paint scheme. [top right pic]

To Jamie McDowell (WLP Kitchen) for being voted ‘Learner of the Month’ by HIT (Hospitality Industry Training) for December 2014, beating approx. 400 others in the Herts area for his NVQ Level 2. Fantastic news!

To Linda Purton, on hosting a visit of students from the University of Hertfordshire at BH.

Diego Granada

To Diego Granada as as Head Chef Beales Hotel in April to pastures new. Diego has achieved Two AA Rosettes for the cuisine at BH over many years, and has ensured that BH remains as the best hotel in Hatfield and surrounding areas. We wish you well Diego, and will miss you.
