Dear Sharon,

I want to write and formally thank you and all the staff at The West Lodge whilst Saturday's wedding is still fresh in our minds!

We really cannot praise the staff enough for all their kindness and amazing close attention to detail. From setting up the venue the day before, throughout the wedding and onto the clear up the day after, nothing was too much trouble. We never had to seek anyone out; a senior member of the team was always at our side to calmly and professionally deal with all enquiries.

Considering that you cater for weddings all the time, it felt as though ours was special and unique to the hotel staff. We have received such compliments on everything from the quality of the food, to the service and of course to the beautiful marquee and grounds. How you even managed to arrange beautiful weather in the worst summer on record is perhaps the most amazing trick up your sleeve!!!

Adam orchestrated the event seamlessly and I wish I could remember the names of the other two female members of staff who were also around to help set up and be a friendly face to work alongside. We really cannot fault a single aspect and consider our experience with the West Lodge Park to be excellent value for money.

Thank you for ensuring that one of the best days of our lives was so memorable.

Dear Mr. Beale,

I write to congratulate you on your fantastic hotel once again following our wedding at West Lodge, Cockfosters on 21st July 2012.

Having been to West Lodge many times over the past 10 years, we held our engagement party there a couple of years ago and once deciding the time was right to get married, we then began to explore our options, viewing many venues.

West Lodge stood head and shoulders above its competitors in terms of the service provided, the quality of food, its location and the beautiful grounds.

The main reason for this email is to pass onto you our sincere thanks to all the staff, in particular to Sharon, our wedding co-ordinator.

She was amazing. She made us feel so special, nothing was ever too much trouble. Her professional approach and the way she balances this with being a down to earth 'normal' person, who genuinely made us feel as though she really cared, was amazing. Not only did she organise everything perfectly, she offered support when things were getting stressful, she was quick to provide advice on choices that we needed to make and made me (a very fussy person!) feel totally relaxed in the hotel's ability to provide us with what was to be the best day of our lives. She deserves all the praise she gets.

I would also like to mention how unbelievably efficient Will was on the day. I think it was Adam who was in charge when we got engaged and he was so good at what he did, I was very concerned that Will be live up to those standards. Well I can honestly say that he did! The qualities required to do the job he did for us include patience, confidence, knowledge, good manners and calmness and he excelled in all of these. From the moment I arrived at lunchtime, to the few left standing at 1 / 2am, he was on hand. He really did an amazing job.

Finally, all the staff, from bar staff, to kitchen staff, to waiters, were so professional. They seemed to know immediately that I was the Groom, if I asked for something, it was provided, promptly and professionally.

We will of course be back in the near future!

We were married at your beautiful hotel on Sunday 6th May 2012 and now writing to say a really big thank you to all the staff that made our day the most memorable one. From the help and sound advice from Sharon Blackgrove who organised our wedding and the reception, excellent job, the professional, efficient and calming influence of Will and Adam on the day who made sure everything went to plan, the most elegant gorgeous meal prepared by the chefs in the kitchen, the waitress staff who delivered the most professional friendly, excellent service throughout the whole afternoon and evening and let's not forget the bar staff who ensured no one went thirsty on the day.

Please pass on our thanks and sincere gratitude to all the staff who made our day so perfect. They are a credit to the hotel and should be very proud of what they achieve.

We will be visit again very soon.

Dear Helen

This is a very overdue note to thank you and your staff for the wonderful job you did for our wedding on 7th October.

In fact, our ‘thank-yous’ have been very much delayed for various reasons and we were still trying to ‘catch up’ along with all the Christmas mail!!

We lost count of the number of compliments we received about the venue, the food!! (those lamb cutlets were a great hit!) and the service. It is very clear from all the comments, phone calls and written notes that everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and greatly appreciated all that every member of staff involved did for them.

We ourselves enjoyed the whole experience – from our first meeting with you, right through till the end of our stay over the weekend.

We had a great day – from beginning to end!

I feel I should start this e-mail with an apology for the delay in contacting you nearly a week after the event - we've been busy and a bit tired!

The event was a great success and was enjoyed by all the guests, not least the bride and groom. We were not as organised on arrival as we should have been - our fault - but the setting and facilities were excellent and we could not have wished for better and more appropriate weather in which to enjoy the surroundings. The meal was superb and you and your colleagues were friendly and very efficient.

Dear Sharon

Seven weeks on, with nearly everything put away and all the bills paid, we are just writing to thank you personally for overseeing Claire and Ryan's Wedding.

It really was the most wonderful day, but only due to the amount of detailed organisation you and your team put in behind the scenes.

Although it seemed a daunting operation to us, you all made it run like clockwork and, when the weather dictated at the last minute that the BBQ would have to be held indoors, everything ran brilliantly, even down to Gina's subtle provision of a box of tissues during the lunchtime speeches!

We have had amazing feedback from guests and everyone enjoyed themselves - this is confirmed by the video and hundreds of photos showing all the guests looking relaxed and having fun.

My mother enjoyed the lunchtime lamb so much that she's planning a lunch party at West Lodge next June, and I will be in touch about that a little later!

I am sure the word 'wedding' to you means 'OMG! not another ******* one', but 'thank you' for making ours so very special for us all.

Hi Sharon,

I've just tried to call the number on the website but there was no reply.

I just wanted to let you know that after much thought and deliberation, myself and my partner have decided to get married at Hanbury Manor in Ware rather than at West Lodge Park. You were kindly holding Saturday 23rd June 2012 for us, so I just wanted to let you know of our decision. Hanbury Manor just works slightly better for us in terms of room layout and the overall package on offer.

I'd like to thank you very much for your help. I'd just like to say how informative you were and also like to thank you for your patience too, I saw lots of venues and I can easily say that you were the best person I met with in terms of talking through details and the show around too. I work in events too, so it's always nice when you meet someone who knows their stuff!

I had been speaking with the Enfield registrar, do you know if I need to inform them to release the date for me too?

Dear Helen,

Just a short note to say thank you so very much for all your help, advice and guidance in organizing our wedding reception on the 8th July 2011 at West Lodge Park hotel…at very short notice!

The day went off wonderfully, from the red carpet on arrival through to the lovely food, reception rooms and hospitality from all the staff at the hotel.

Everyone at the hotel was so helpful and considerate throughout the entire day. However, Adam deserves a special mention for his helpfulness and professionalism, the smooth running of the whole event and nothing was too much trouble. Will, who ran the bar almost single handedly, constantly running to the main bar for additional orders until 12:00 midnight was also an absolute star.

The complimentary bedroom, room 36, was lovely and we just wished we could have stayed longer!

All in all a fantastic occasion with wonderful memories that will last a life time. Thank you and all the team at the West Lodge Park Hotel for making this dream come true in less than two weeks!

Dear Dave,

A warm thank you from all of us for the excellent hospitality at West Lodge Park for the guests at the Chamberlain/Jaffer wedding. We were very well looked after at every stage and would be happy to use WLP again and recommend it to others, and the sister hotel, Beales, where the bride stayed the night before the wedding.

Dear Sharon

I am writing to say a big thank you to you for all your kind assistance and organisation of our wedding day, the personal touches you applied were very clearly evident on the day which were very much appreciated. Please pass on our thanks to all the staff who attended to us and especially the chef on the day, also I must mention Adam Brooks who was brilliant and kept his cool at all times on the day. I can honestly say that it all went beautifully. I hardly touched the food because the nerves got the better of me, however, the starter - the mushroom tart - was delectable! Many of our friends and family reported to us how fantastic the food was.

The John Evelyn room is definitely understated in your photo gallery on the web site, the way in which the room was turned around for the three parts of our day was excellent, even with 60 people we felt that it was a big party and the ambiance created by the lighting etc...I could go on! Needless to say, we will be recommending West Lodge Park hotel to everyone!

One last thing - please let Ron know that I got the biscuits and was very touched by his lovely gesture and thank you as it made me feel very special.

Basically, i just wanted to say how fantastic our day was in part due to the brilliant service our family, friends and us received form your staff. Please pass on our thanks, I know we kept asking for a bit more speed after the main meal, hope we did not annoy them too much! (they said they have not seen a party eat so quickly - think the number of children caused that!). Anyway, the setting was lovely and the weather just about held out although it was rather windy, still the Sunday was a zillion times worse.

What a perfect day it was on Saturday from St Albans Abbey to West Lodge Park

We would very much like to thank you for your help and support over the last two years in the planning and preparation of Elisa and Tom’s wedding celebration.

The day was just magical – all the i’s were dotted and the t’s crossed. The combination of your expert and very precise instructions with a diligence and excellent execution given by Adam on the day was beyond all expectations. Nothing was too much trouble for Adam and he carried out every task with a smile, warmth and tremendous willingness.

We would also be grateful if you would convey our appreciation to Wayne for the absolutely excellent food from the delicious canapés, the wedding breakfast itself which was superb, to the buffet in the evening. The service was first class and the waiters and waitresses were a credit to the hotel.

We just wanted to say thank you for all the hard work and organising for our wedding. We had such a wonderful day and are so grateful that you and all the staff at the hotel were so accommodating in making our wedding day exactly how we wanted it. You really took the pressure off of us and we definitely felt we could trust you.

Please especially thank Richard – he helped from the moment we arrived on the Saturday right through to helping us carry our gifts etc. to our room after the wedding. The food was lovely and again when guests were changing their minds from what they had ordered there was no problem at all with changing orders, which was very much appreciated.

We hope to celebrate future occasions at the West Lodge Park and have no doubt we will receive the same first class service.

I have just spoken to Mrs Konskier who was absolutely thrilled with the hotel and her daughter’s wedding reception that was held in the marquee on Sunday.

Everything was so fantastic and went so well. She made a special mention of Chris saying that nothing was too much trouble and that the service was so efficient in the background. Compliments also to the Chef - the food was "top class".

Laura (the bride) was so ecstatic – her comment was that "it was even better than we expected!!!!!"

Just a quick note to say thank you for all your hard work for our wedding (9th June). I'm sure you must be really busy now and it seems like a long time ago!.

The day was perfect!. Everything went to plan. The drinks reception was lovely and the marquee looked beautiful. The staff were wonderful and all food was liine. All of our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to, you even made the weather!

Ruth and I wish to thank you and all the staff at West Lodge Park for helping us celebrate the marriage of Gabriela and Andrew. We could not have wished for a more professional team of people who did their best to make July 1st a memorable day for the bride and groom, us and our family and friends.

We had so many comments about the beautiful venue and the quality of the food and service together with the kindness shown to our guests by your staff, nothing was too much trouble for your staff and everything was accompanied with a smile.

Many thanks for all your hard work and planning and attention to details which made our wedding day truly memorable. The food was wonderful. The service, which Richard supervised with great care and without being intrusive, was excellent, special thanks to the waiting ladies and to Tony.

Sitting either end of the beautifully decorated wedding table, Freddie and I enjoyed the happy almost heady atmosphere, looking round at all the smiling faces it felt like a great big family. Once again Sharon thank you for everything, I will be in touch with some pictures and to take you to coffee!

You hosted our wedding on the 5th May 2007 and we would really like to let you know how satisfied we were with the entire "wedding experience" at West Lodge Park"

On the day the King Charles Room was beautifully prepared for our wedding service and evening function. The duty manager and his assistant ensured that the entire day flowed smoothly and they seemed to achieve this with just the right degree of presence and tact, always there when needed but never seeming too obvious.

Dear Sharon

Just a quick note to say how very delighted and thrilled we were with the way our daughter's wedding was handled on June 9th 2007.

The Marquee looked lovely; the drink reception on the lawn with the little tables put outside worked fantastically well. I know the good weather on the day was an amazing bonus, but the staff all worked so hard in quite surprising heat to make sure that everything ran smoothly. Nothing was too much trouble, even though our early arrival must have caused consternation!

The meal was beautifully served and delicious, the wineglasses were kept filled, the bar in the John Evelyn Room worked well, and when there was an extra crush more staff appeared to help out.

Please convey our appreciation and thanks to all the staff who worked so hard behind the scenes, including the gardening department who kept the grounds looking so magnificent.

I have to say that I always felt that your professionalism would ensure a wonderful day, and I actually didn't worry about the reception (apart from the weather), but it is always nice to have one's faith prove right! All our guests say it is the best wedding they have ever been to, so thank you and regards also to Richard and Chris.
