Events/Arboretum Tour And Afternoon Tea

Wednesday 8th May, Thursday 13th June, Wednesday 10th July, Thursday 1st August, Wednesday 11th September & Tuesday 15th October

Join Andrew Beale, the eighth generation in the family business, for a guided tour around the Beale Arboretum at West Lodge Park.

You will see some of the 800 species of trees around the 35 acre estate, the spectacular conifers, the national collections of hornbeams and taxodiums, the new catalpa collection, magnolia and holly beds, and the glorious maple glade.

The tour begins at 2.30pm in the front lounge, and finishes at 4.00pm with English Afternoon tea served in the Terrace bar, Mary Beale restaurant, or on the terrace if fine.

The tea consists of:

4 sandwich fingers: Cream cheese & chive, Scottish smoked salmon, Hertfordshire free-range egg & cress, Chicken salad.

2 warm scones with Devonshire clotted cream and Tiptree jam

1 home-made fruit tart, 1 lemon chocolate cup and 1 soft-centered macaroon

Twinings tea or Paddy and Scott’s Coffee

or alternatively:

Champagne Afternoon Tea (as the Afternoon Tea, plus a delicious glass of Taittinger Champagne)

The tour is free, and the afternoon tea costs £18.00 per person or £26.00 per person for the Champagne Afternoon Tea.

We will be walking on mainly hard paths, but a coat is recommended and sturdy footwear should be worn.

Executive bedrooms in the hotel are larger in size and Luxury bedrooms are even larger, set a little distance from the hotel in the gorgeous grounds.

All our bedrooms are individually named and decorated with stunning views over either the Beale Arboretum, the formal gardens of the hotel, or the wider open spaces of the Enfield Chace.
