WELCOME TO THE BEALES HOTELS NEWS PAGES

Here you can keep up to date with what's happening in and around Beales Hotels.

October 2008:

Congratulations to

...Marion Taylor (WLP Banqueting) on reaching a historic milestone of 35 years working at WLP! Making Marion one of three people in the exclusive 35+ club, joining Tony King and Ian Thompson with this honour – this just one month after Anthony Browning reached his 30 year goal.

...Claire Johnston (WLP Reception) on reaching 5 years working at WLP – maybe less than 35 years but still a great achievement and a milestone as Claire has been promoted this year to Head Receptionist.

...Ben Morcombe (pic right) promoted from F&B Manager to Deputy General Manager WLP, Adam Brooks promoted from Assistant C&B Manager to C&B Operations Manager WLP, and David MacIntyre promoted from Assistant Manager to Front of House Manager WLP.

Welcome to

Stacy East (Meetings and Events Sales Manager at BH) from Initial Style Conferences at Theobalds Park. [pic right] and to Nikki Povey (Guest Service co-ordinator WLP) from Buckingham Beales Hotel.

Farewell to

Diego Granada (Head Chef BH) [pic left] to the Swan at Bedford, to Daniel Healey (Deputy General Manager BH) [pic far right] to the Hempel Hotel, and to Roy Hooper joiner for Beales Hotels). We will miss you all very much.

Taittinger Champagne Evening at WLP

The hotel recently played host to the Taittinger Hot Air Balloon which was anchored on the marquee lawn [pic left]. It was a grand sight, helped by perfect still conditions and an appreciative crowd.

Web Statistics

Another rise in people visiting www.bealeshotels.co.uk. For the six months April to September 08, there were 64434 unique visitors to the site, a rise of 14% on the same period last year. Repeat visits are not counted again – so it is over 64’000 new people who have viewed our fantastic website in this period.

Boat trips for the teams have continued in mainly unsettled conditions – but a good time has been had by all and it is a special way to get together. [pics right].

And finally...

is the Credit Crunch reaching Beales Hotels? Sales are certainly falling as our guests tighten their belts. After all, they do not need to come to a nice hotel for a meal or an overnight stay. Nevertheless, we are down far less than the high street or the financial and housing sectors - good service, good food, the warmest of welcomes, a clean bedroom and bathroom, clean ground floor loos, and quiet efficiency will all make our business more recession proof as long as we continue to offer all of this to our guests.
