was sold to Heymaa Ltd on 28th November – the end of an era and a sad day for all concerned. We all wish our BB colleagues a safe transition to the new owners and in so many ways we will miss you. Thank you to Dave Seward, and to all the team, for quietly getting on with the job in hand.
Beales Hotels has a new Training Manager, Andrea Mills, who will be joining us on the 4th December. Andrea lives in Potters Bar, and has worked for the Imperial Cancer Research Fund and Zales Jewellers at their head offices. She is a Cordon Bleu Cook and will no doubt put that to good use in due course.

the new staff area is now up and running, staff can access lots of downloadable company forms and procedures, and while it may not be the most exciting page on the website, it fulfils a very important function of giving everyone access to the company information.
the new BH brochures are now out – Meeting of Minds is a stunning business and conference brochure, while Celebrate Together is a wonderful combined Wedding and Banqueting brochure with separate inserts as at WLP.
Estates News – WLP The hedge on the right of the drive as one drives up has been taken away by bulldozer, opening up previously unseen views across the top field and giving for the first time the true impression of being surrounded by space on all sides – a major improvement to the already beautiful approach to the hotel.
• WLP Rooms 20 and 21 will be re-papered in December, while the bathrooms of 10 and 11 will be rebuilt in February.
• The bin area outside the back of WLP will be enclosed in with major works by Grant and his team this winter, and the existing eyesore will be gone for good.
• The BH Buckland deck is nearing completion and will look stunning as it is fully illuminated and furnished.
BH kitchen now boasts a 2nd Rationale oven, this one capable of regenerating up to 50 plated main courses at a go.
Andrew and Callum hosted a trip by the 1st Kimpton guides to BH – some 30 girls were set tasks around the hotel, including laying tables, making beds, menu planning and quizzes. A great night and some bookings for the hotel have already been made as a result!
