Hi Clare,
Just to feedback that we had an enjoyable stay recently on friday 1st and saturday 2nd july. The rooms are nice and modern, breakfast was great, staff all very helpful and polite especially the bar staff you had on both nights, price was also very good at £130 for 2 nights b&b so we would have no qualms staying again. Only small gripe is cost of a large Pinot at £7.95 a glass which is still about £2 more than standard prices but i appreciate we are paying Hotel prices for drinks, also a suggestion would be to fill up rooms near to the reception area i.e. rooms 1-10 last as they are closest to the bar and function room so when you have either a wedding or as in our case a school prom on, you can hear the noise until about 1am and not ideal if you are looking for an early night after a long day. Overall it was a good experience and one we shall certainly repeat again if the price remains the same.

We really enjoyed our stay, however brief, and found the staff in particular to be excellent and very friendly. You have a really good team there who went out of their way to sort out an issue we had with a taxi company and resolved the situation for us even though it was very late at night.

I would just like to pass on my thanks and congratulations to you for the very fine hotel that you have at Hatfield. I had the pleasure of staying at your hotel on 1 May to 3 May 2010.
I was surprised after reading the guest information that I had in fact visited the hotel before in 1970 when I had my wedding ceremony in the octagonal building that was part of the original Hatfield Lodge Hotel. I remember the distinctive red wood panelling.
You have created a distinctive hotel that I would say is the best in which I have stayed. Even some of Sydney's top Hotels, cannot match the service and quality of the accommodation. I will be recommending the hotel to friends and I am pleased to have found you on the WOTIF website a site that I use frequently in Australia.
I grew up in Hatfield and I come back every couple of years to visit family who still live locally. Hatfield has changed since I left in 1970 and I am sorry to say not for the better so finding such a gem of a hotel was a most pleasant surprise. I will definitely be staying in your hotel again.

I just wanted to send a note to say thank you to all the Beales Hotel staff for their support during our (PPD Inc.) last stay at the Beales from September 14-18, 2009.
We had a large group staying at the hotel for a meeting at the hotel on the 15th and then off-site meetings the remainder of the week. Clare Markham was fantastic, during the reservations stage of planning for this tirp, and I just was someone to know how much we appreciated her assistance. She responded quickly, was flexible and patient, as we had to make many changes over a 2-week period. I did not hear of any errors with reservations, and everyone loved their hotel rooms. I would also like to thank Amy Tregidgo, who helped with scheduling the conference room on the 15th of September. Regardless, of my slow response on occassion, Amy ensured that we had a place to meet, and for that I am truly grateful. One last thank you goes to Linda Purton. During my last two visits to the Beale, Linda has always been so accommodating and sure to offer assistance in any way. Linda went so far as to make iced tea for those of us from Texas, which was greatly appreciated.

The service at your hotel was outstanding. The check in was fast and efficient and the receptionist was welcoming and very helpful. The hotel is stunning and far superior to its original condition and we got the impression you have worked hard to think of everything. The décor reminded us of the K West in Kensington, although I would say you beat them in all areas. We had lunch in the bar which was excellent and again your staff made us feel welcome and valuable. I get the impression that while you see the need to make a profit, there’s a greater need to exceed expectations. Decent coffee and complimentary pastries made our day. Afternoon Gemma,
Thank you for your e-mail – the evening was an overall success, we had some great feedback from the attendees saying how much they enjoyed their dinner and stay at Beales hotel.
The flowers turned up just on time and looked really good on the table. The lady who dropped them off did ask to keep the bowels which I informed the catering team of on the night. She said she would come over to pick them up when she had a spare moment.
The only thing that didn’t run as smoothly as is could was – as the main courses were being brought out, two ladies informed us that they were vegetarian – obviously this is something we would have liked to have dealt with before the evening event took place but unfortunately they didn’t pass on that information until the night! The kitchen made them a lovely meal but it did take rather a long time to prepare – if they had maybe done a dish that was quicker to prepare we wouldn’t of had to ask so many times when it was going to be ready.
Apart from that, the staff were great and Kieran was brilliant at sorting and overseeing everything.
Finally, please can you ask your accounts department to forward the invoice to us as soon as possible.

Hi Chris,
I just wanted to thank you for your hospitality and to say that your staff were all charming especially Kieran. Everybody enjoyed the buffet the only exception being the pork pies which were left for some reason. I didn’t try one myself but notice that if anyone did they were not eaten. This is just some feedback but maybe you need to check out the ingredients.
All the people who hadn’t been to the hotel before remarked about how nice and modern it was, they hadn’t realized what was so local. Hopefully it will drive some trade to you, as a few asked me about prices of rooms etc. and I told them to ask reception. I will contact you as discussed after Christmas & New Year (hope you have a good one) about the hotel becoming a member.

We had an excellent stay at the hotel as always and the dinner was lovely. Because we had a busy day, we left around 10pm and it seemed to be in full swing. Kieran and his team did do a good job.
Just once piece of feedback. I know breakfast isn’t served until 8am at weekends, and I had to order room service breakfast because I had to leave at 8am to go the college on the Saturday. It might be worth considering starting breakfast earlier at the weekends, just to cover people who may be working or want an early start.

The staff went the extra mile and he was more than pleased with the hotel. A delegate was in the middle of Ramadan and the way he was catered for at the hotel was spot on and this is credit to the staff. Dear All,
Am pleased to report that having spoken with Kevin Woodhams this afternoon (contact for Roche's 2 day meeting which had taken place yesterday & today), everybody had left extremely satisfied with the service provided by the hotel.
Kevin explained that nothing had been too much trouble and that every member of hotel staff he had dealt with had been friendly and accommodating. He very much liked the size of the meeting room as this seemed to work perfectly for this type of training - as well as the feature of natural daylight.
Kevin has attended a meeting at BH before but has not held a meeting himself here. He will definitely request to come back if he finds himself conducting training again.
He also particularly mentioned that a member of hotel staff had been able to accommodate one of his colleagues (who had been fasting), in providing them with a snack later on in the evening. Whoever this was - well done. Kevin was very impressed with this attention to detail.

Just a quick e-mail to thank you for the excellent service provided by your team over the last 3 days: 22nd -24th June.
Although your air-con system broke down during one of the warmest weeks in June, your team did everything in their power to make this situation as comfortable as possible for our delegates.
Linda was able to respond quickly to all our last minute changes in requirements (timing of breaks, contents of nibbles during breaks, change of breakfast location on the last day, temperature adjustment to air-con when working, loan of speakers from one of your staff members to view the English game etc...).
We are especially grateful for allocating to us the Therfield room for the last day as this was not expected and a very welcomed indeed; it was greatly appreciated by our attendees.

Yesterday we ran our Mend the Gap training day for church youth workers and clergy at your Hatfield Hotel. Through Andy Humm you very kindly provided us with facilities at very helpful charges, thus enabling us to use your hotel.
I am contacting you to thank you for your generosity towards us, and indeed for what was a great experience for our participants. The support from your team was outstanding, particularly Shane who introduced himself as we arrived and then proceeded to serve us with great courtesy and professionalism.
The lunch was also highly commented upon, and in particular the obvious care taken over people with special diets for whom some rather lovely looking salads had been prepared.
For most of the participants, who are used to undertaking training in a church hall in generally uncomfortable surroundings, this was a great way of encouraging them and thanking them for all that they contribute to young people in various ways.

The reason for this letter is to first thank you for our brief, but pleasurable stay at your hotel which, was unfortunately cut short to the severe weather warnings in Wales where we had come from and meant that we had to cut our stay short.
I wish to commend your their friendly and efficient staff, the standard of accommodation and the extremely good food. Secondly, we would ask that you pass on our special thanks to Shane. He was so concerned that we may be trapped in snowbound traffic that he went to the trouble of preparing sandwiches and fruit for our journey in case we became stranded.

I’m pleased to advise we have received very positive feedback from Emcor today – following the end of their 2 day meeting with us.
The main contact, Laurence, praised Abi for her superb service in the restaurant last night (do pass this on Christie!). Laurence had also mentioned their food at lunchtime today being very well received and that tea and coffee had been regularly refreshed when needed.
As discussed with Nathan, they did find the air conditioning noisy in the room.

Very pleasing feedback received from Mr. Pollington – trainer for Respironics in the oaklands today.
He has already been to BH several times last year and has been consistently impressed with our service/facilities. Respironics hold 4 training sessions a year, one of which is held in Hatfield. Previously they’d taken business to Bush Hall (he wasn’t aware of their closure which I updated him on). Now from using beales several times already, they are happy to continue to use us for all of their training sessions that are planned for the area.
Today Mr. Pollington was particularly impressed with the lunch- everyone had good things to say. Also had noticed Kieran’s help in ensuring teas, coffees were on time. He appreciated we’d refreshed these quietly with no disturbance caused to the session when entering/leaving the meeting room.

As you may well be aware, I hosted a breakfast meeting at your hotel in Hatfield yesterday morning and I just wanted to write to share some feedback with you on our experience.
I arrived at 7.15am to be greeted by Linda Purton, whose attention and service yesterday morning was simply first class.
Linda ensured that the mornings details were checked with me prior to the guests arrival at 8am. This was exactly what I required, as I had been on holiday prior to the event and left the final details to other members of my team. Linda and I quickly established that several details were not correct (our fault not yours) and Linda went about finding staff to assist in correcting all of these issues quickly and efficiently.
The breakfast event was a success and Linda and the 2 other members of your staff played a significant part in this success, for which I am extremely grateful.
I hope to host more of these events over the coming 12 months and will of course remember my experience of yesterday.

Very many thanks for making us so welcome at Beales on Tuesday. We had a most successful conference, thanks largely to the efficiency and flexibility of your staff. They were quite unphased when the theatre layouts in syndicate rooms were changed to cabaret at a moment's notice, they were invisible and soundless when clearing away after lunch and coffee, liaised with us and provided refreshments faultlessly on cue, produced a flip chart which had not been ordered and when the band arrived thirty minutes early they amazingly managed to accommodate thirty four children with drums on the floor of Reception while I told them an impromptu story. Nothing seemed to be any trouble. I really hope other Hertfordshire education departments will pick up on our recommendation. We will certainly be back.

Just a quick email to thank you for the meeting venue and smooth arrangements yesterday afternoon. We arrived just after 1:00pm (were running late) but I was pleased to be me met by linda and have a quick chat confirming arrangements.
John brought the afternoon tea etc. in right on cue at 3pm and as planned you had water available. I counted 10 bottles of water used.
As I mentioned to the receptionist when we left (about 5:30pm), we had used 22 sheets of the flipchart in our brainstorming so I decided to bring the whole pad with us - trust that was okay.

Hope you are well - thanks for the note, yes we went on honeymoon to Italy. We got back late Sunday and then I jumped straight into a 2 day away conference for work, not ideal but it was ok. So i haven't had a chance until now to reply to your message.
Everything went brilliantly! The room looked absolutely amazing - better than I thought it would. When it all came together it looked perfect - thank you and your team for everything you did. The whole decoration of the room was spot on, with the lights and candles it was like walking into something magical (I know that sounds cheesy but you know what I mean!). Outside looked lovely as well. So many people also commented on it being the best wedding breakfast they had ever had, we seriously had so many comments on the great food.
Huge huge huge thanks to Kieran was it? Sorry his name escapes me. He was just the best support person all day - he was constantly on hand to ensure everything ran smoothly and whenever we needed his help he would act on it immediately and it would be sorted in no time - he was brilliant so please pass on my thanks to him. The whole team in fact were very professional and polite.
And the private breakfast was really nice as well - everyone commented on how lovely it was to have a private room the next day - so thanks for that as well.
Was everything ok when we left?? We didn't damage anything or leave anything that needs picking up??

I just wanted to drop you a quick Email & Thank you for your help the morning of our wedding! You really were great that morning and you helped keep me calm & kept everything in order for me! We had such a lovely day and we’d like to Thank everyone at Beales Hotel that helped make our day so special! I am sure that Charlotte and Jonathan will express their appreciation about their wedding when they return from their honeymoon.
From our perspective, my wife and I want to say how much we appreciated the way in which the wedding arrangements were handled by the Hotel. I know that there have been a couple of changes in personnel since Charlotte first contacted the Hotel but have to say that the people involved have always been friendly, helpful and professional.
On the day itself, you conducted the wedding event itself, from the reception through the meal and for the rest of the evening, in the same manner i.e. friendly, helpful and professional.
All of the staff provided an excellent service; we were particularly impressed with the speed and efficiency shown when providing an alternative starter and main vegetarian meal for two of our guests; also the way in which the waitress waited to take away the packaging from the kosher meals.
We are continuing to get feedback from our guests, all of it very positive and very impressed with the Hotel.

Our daughter and her fiancé brought us to your Hotel yesterday so that we might see the wedding venue for ourselves and also to clear some outstanding queries they had. Afterwards we were ablt to have a meal in the Outside In Restaurant.

I just wanted to send a note to say thank you to all the Beales Hotel staff for their support during our (PPD Inc.) last stay at the Beales from September 14-18, 2009.
We had a large group staying at the hotel for a meeting at the hotel on the 15th and then off-site meetings the remainder of the week. Clare Markham was fantastic, during the reservations stage of planning for this tirp, and I just was someone to know how much we appreciated her assistance. She responded quickly, was flexible and patient, as we had to make many changes over a 2-week period. I did not hear of any errors with reservations, and everyone loved their hotel rooms. I would also like to thank Amy Tregidgo, who helped with scheduling the conference room on the 15th of September. Regardless, of my slow response on occassion, Amy ensured that we had a place to meet, and for that I am truly grateful. One last thank you goes to Linda Purton. During my last two visits to the Beale, Linda has always been so accommodating and sure to offer assistance in any way. Linda went so far as to make iced tea for those of us from Texas, which was greatly appreciated.

Re: Fund Raising Dinner
Beales Hotel Hatfield did us proud last night! Everything about the evening was very well organised; the room, seating; equipment needed etc. The menu was superb and the staff extremely efficient, discreet and helpful. We were especially impressed with Kieran who was in charge; he did everything possible to assist us in setting up and preparing the room from 4pm onwards. He remained completely focused on us and our needs and kept a careful watch over his team, leading by example. He's a gem!
In the end we had 42 who sat down for the meal, over half being 'potential donors' (but obviously couples counting as one). When we added up all the one-off gifts; plus the Standing Orders (to include the giving for 1 year); plus the Gift Aid for the total; minus the hotel expenses, the amount raised comes to £7050.
This only includes the figures for those who returned forms on the night - quite a few took the forms home to think about it.
Added to that, we intend to write to all those who expressed an interest in becoming a Friend of Step but who could not come on the evening. We will send them the same forms and invite them to sign up also. There are a considerable number of people in this category - more than twice the number who came on the evening.
Also, the event has now reaped a considerable data base for Friends of Step.
So all in all, we are thankful to God for all that we have learned in organising this event; for all the new contacts we have made, and for the valuable finances which have been raised, and may hopefully still be raised, as a result of the Dinner.
We are immensely grateful to you, Andrew, for your generosity and encouragement without which we might have given up halfway through this exercise!

We had our wedding reception with you last August and decided to come back to celebrate our 1st Anniversary for 2009.
We have held a couple of events with you as well as had many meals in the restaurant, and can't fault the service which you provide. The staff are very helpful and friendly which makes the experience all the more pleasurable!

Thank you for your "after sales" service. Yes, the day went well. The young gentleman who was in overall charge conducted the proceedings in a very efficient manner (according to one of the guests who knows about these things!). Once she had told me what to look for, I could only agree. I think our main problem was the long delay between the reception phase and the eating phase. There could well have been a revolt amongst the sub-12 year olds but the parents were on top of it before it went nuclear!
Feedback from everyone I have spoken to has been very positive, and I must thank you personally for your active attention to the details to ensure the event was a success. Please pass on my thanks to your team for ensuring it was day to remember.

I just wanted to drop you a note following my party on Saturday night. What can I say.... it was great! I had a fabulous time and I believe all my friends and family did also. Certainly all the smiles and compliments seemed genuine!
Please pass on my thanks to John who definitely provided a calm and dependable front all evening! Wonderful to know he was there to sort out some last minute and a few through-the-evening needs. And the rest of the staff who I was aware of almost invisbly managing food and drinks throughout the party.
So many of my friends complimented the food... had I managed a morsel or two myself I'm sure I'd be able to add my praise but the role of hostess rather took over... it all looked wonderful, I can definitely say that! The hotel itself also received compliments for it's contemporary design... I have to say I was delighted that I found and booked Beales.
Thank you again to the conference co-ordinator for sorting it all out for me, answering all my bothersome questions and ensuring that my 40th celebration ran smoothly.
I will await the invoice of additional charges; by all means do e-mail it through to me and I will put a cheque in the post.

I am sure that Charlotte and Jonathan will express their appreciation about their wedding when they return from their honeymoon.
From our perspective, my wife and I want to say how much we appreciated the way in which the wedding arrangements were handled by the Hotel. I know that there have been a couple of changes in personnel since Charlotte first contacted the Hotel but have to say that the people involved have always been friendly, helpful and professional.
On the day itself, you conducted the wedding event itself, from the reception through the meal and for the rest of the evening, in the same manner i.e. friendly, helpful and professional.
All of the staff provided an excellent service; we were particularly impressed with the speed and efficiency shown when providing an alternative starter and main vegetarian meal for two of our guests; also the way in which the waitress waited to take away the packaging from the kosher meals.
We are continuing to get feedback from our guests, all of it very positive and very impressed with the Hotel.

I just had to e-mail you to say that I went to your restaurant Outsidein yesterday for lunch with my husband. I wanted to say just how much we enjoyed the whole experience and the food was absolutely fantastic!! The presentation is such that it seems a shame to eat it!! I must also say the service was impeccable and very friendly. Our server, Anna, was extremely helpful, efficient and very sociable. We don't often go out to lunch during the week, as we both work, but we had purchased a Travelzoo voucher for my birthday and I must say having experienced your level of service I will definitely take the opportunity to purchase any vouchers they do for Beales - either overnight in the hotel or the restaurant - in the future.

As something of a ‘foodie’, this is some of the best food I’ve eaten out for some time. I had the pigeon breast (sublime), pork belly (a touch salty for my taste, but marvellous all the same), cheese (a good complimentary selection) then, couldn’t resist going with a dessert, having the sticky toffee pudding (a great presentation of the modern classic). Please pass on my compliments to the chef and the staff, who provided excellent service of this great food.

I was running a training course on behalf of T-Mobile at your Hatfield hotel on Thursday the 12th February and I would like to point out the excellent service I received from Linda during the day.
There was a problem to start with in that the heating had broken in the room allocated, which would have been very uncomfortable for my delegates as it was so cold. Linda provided a solution by working around other guests and providing an alternate room (Oaklands).
Linda was happy to move screens, refreshments and anything else I required around as needed and nothing was too much trouble. This has ensured that (when I have the budget) I will be carrying out more sessions at your hotel in the future. Please pass my thanks on to Linda.

I stayed at your hotel the night of 19th September 08, booked in by my son-in law, Mr Baras Mast-Ingle.
I had been having some neck discomfort at that time and had even had physiotherapy. I had a wonderful nights sleep at the hotel and the pillow was unbelievably comfortable, so much so that I wrote a note and made enquiries at the reception desk as to where I could obtain one.
The receptionist thought it may have been John Lewis though this was not so as I went there to ask. In fact you may be interested to know that someone else had just called in to the store to ask the same question, also from your hotel.
Once home I telephoned to see if I could progress with my enquiries. Your Guest Service Manager, Linda, contacted me. What a lovely person she is! She took my request seriously and is doing her utmost to track down the supplier so that I can contact them in order to buy a pillow.
This lady has a responsible position within your team and must be very busy. My request is small and unimportant in the scheme of things. I felt that I should draw attention to her and thank her for her pleasant manner and actually taking the trouble to follow up.

I would just like to write to say how extremely grateful I was on Wednesday morning with the concern that was shown towards my daughter by your guest services manager Linda Purton.
My daughter had been involved in an accident outside your hotel, when she was brought inside by one of your guests. As I understand from my daughter, Linda dealt with the situation in a very efficient and sympathetic way. When I arrived she met me in the car park, and briefed me as to what had happened, which was reassuring to a rather frantic Mother.
I hope that you will pass on our thanks to her. We did try to see her on Thursday, but she had unfortunately left for the day. I have to say that I feel she was a good example to your Hotel, and if this is how non guests of the hotel are treated, then it would lead me to believe that any function or event held here would be given the utmost care and attention.

Good afternoon and happy new year to you. We attended the New Year’s Eve event on Friday at the hotel and I wanted to feedback how much we enjoyed it. We were a party of four and all stayed in the hotel and were most impressed. At the risk of sounding rather over-enthusiastic, the champagne reception was a great start to the evening, the meal was delicious, well presented & well timed and we found your team to be helpful & courteous throughout. I particularly liked the black, white and silver colour scheme on the tables. We enjoyed the entertainment - even the more shy members of our party danced all evening.
We all agreed that it had been a great choice and we’ll definitely consider coming along to such an event at the hotel again. Please pass on our thanks to your team who all worked so hard that evening (and presumably over the festive season) I hope they were able to take a well earned break over the weekend too.

I just wanted to feedback to you on our party night booking in the Buckland Suite on 10 December. The food was lovely and the service was great – we particularly liked the nameplate idea with the menu choices in letters to help the waiting staff. It really speeded up getting meals served quickly and efficiently to everyone – well done!! All the staff were friendly and helpful – even the bar staff who did seem to get a bit overwhelmed at times!! The band were excellent and we were all up dancing. All in all we had an fantastic evening and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves – please pass on our thanks to the team there for doing such a great job.

Party was a huge success, thank you to you and to all of your team. Every staff member was an absolute pleasure to work with, especially the guy who was in charge of the meals being served, I'm sorry but I can't remember his name.
It worked so well in fact, that if we can book at the same deal at the same price for 2011 we will make the booking and pay a deposit for 50 people today.
The date we would like in 2011 is Thursday 15th December.

Dear All,
I’ve spoken with both Kirsty Stocks at Bounty (private party in buckland / Thurs 17th Dec), and Emma Taylor at Mitsubishi (private party in salisbury / Fri 18th Dec) today.
Both of whom have raved about the food served for their parties (guests who had attended the Bounty party last year noticed significant changes and enjoyed their meals very much), and were also very pleased with the entertainment provided by all smarts.
Thank you to all involved and hopefully we can welcome Bounty back for the third year running.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to you, your team & the Funk Monkeys for the Christmas party you put on for us last Thursday. All that attended had a great time and we have had quite a few emails from our colleagues and customers alike who all enjoyed themselves, some including myself lasted until 5:30 the following morning.
Thank you for your help in making this an easy function to put on and a successful Christmas party. These things can become a bit of a chore & challenge to set up with constant changes, but you took most of this away from us and made it a pleasure to organise as well as to attend.
We will be in contact a bit earlier next year as we will be looking to come to Beales for Christmas 2009 and I have a feeling more may want to attend.
Can you please also pass my thanks onto the band as they were great. They had people on the dance floor all night which is a challenge in itself. Particularly good when the singer took to the dance floor whilst singing. Thanks again and look forward to seeing you again next year.

The band were excellent and very considerate by informing us before they started that it would get quite noisy by our table! Very thoughtful although I don't think we sat down all night as the music was brilliant.
We will be back next year and will definitely recommend.

Had to let you know what a fabulous time we had at the New year's Eve dinner dance. The food was superb - captured beef and sweet on camera. The band was brilliant.
