My husband and I just spent two very pleasant nights in your comfortable and stylish hotel in Hatfield. There were a number of things we liked particularly:
Efficient and charming staff on reception - Amena Hassan on our arrival on Wednesday evening; unfortunately we didn't register the name of the young lady on the later shift on our second night, who was outstanding and amongst other things, resolved a tricky bureaucratic problem for us. Also, the morning shift waitress in the restaurant.
The scrambled eggs were out of this world.
Liked the art work and really approve of your promotion of local art talent.
We plan to recommend this hotel if anyone asks.
Yes, really lovely staff. You train them well.

I just wanted to thank you and your staff for such a pleasant stay at Beales in Hatfield a week and a half ago. Your staff was able to accommodate our last-minute request for a second room, which was very helpful.
Our stay was delightful. Both rooms reflected the touch of someone who really cares. They were quiet and spotless and, I have to say, we noticed and appreciated the closer on the bedroom doors to stop them from slamming shut.
We had dinner at the hotel that night and enjoyed a marvelous meal (fish wrapped in banana leaf, fish and chips) with attentive atmosphere. The perfect way to end a hectic day.

My wife and I stopped at Beales last weekend on your £99 deal.
We were impressed by everything really - food, room, staff, cleanliness For special mention - Kieran in the Restaurant and Carla on Reception - I hope you will pass that on.
We are hoping to stay again in the near future as the initial reason for our stay was a helicopter trip (a present), but the helicopter was poorly so we will be re-booking that and intend to stop at Beales in conjunction.

We came across only one thing which didn't let down the stay but perhaps spoiled the ambiance of the restaurant - one man who wore beach shorts for evening meal whilst everyone else was at least smart-ish casual. Some people eh?

I'm not normally someone who has much to say about hotels - I stay in them 4 nights a week. But by far (and I wasn't expecting this) - I have never seen a hotel tick all of the perfect boxes in my mind. Everything during my stay was fantastic - right from checkin, through to breakfast.

We stayed at your hotel for one night on Saturday 22nd June. I would just like to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay, albeit too short! Our room was very comfortable and clean and I was really impressed by all the local artwork around the hotel.
I would particularly like to mention Alex, your Restaurant Manager, who very kindly offered to give us a lift to Hatfield House, where we were attending a concert. Taxis were in short supply and Alex did not hesitate in offering to take us, something we were very grateful for.

We are in for a treat if all the other hotels we visit are as good as yours!! I regularly come to Hatfield on business and have stayed at your hotel on 3 occasions. After having to endure a stay in the Ramada all last week, I was looking forward to returning to Beales on Sunday evening 14th April, and had impressed upon my colleagues how lovely Beales was in comparison. After a horrendous journey up by train, I was desperately in need of some comfort in the shape of chocolate and I rang down to reception and asked if there was any available. Moments later a young lad (I think his name was Tim) knocked on the door and offered some bars that he had brought for himself earlier in the day, he didn’t want any payment for them and just confirmed the view I already had that the Beales Hotel is a far superior, friendly and clean (I can’t stress this enough in light of my other experience the week before) hotel and I want to say a huge thank you to you and your staff, working away from home is hard enough but the little touches that your hotel provide go a long way in turning a bad day into a good. The food is always presented wonderfully and the staff are quick to carry out any request. Please can you say a big thank you to your staff on Sunday night, especially the young gentleman.

I would just like to take this opportunity to thank you for the super overnight stay we had at the weekend to celebrate my mother's 85th birthday.
Everything was perfect, even down to your care with the baby. Thank you, I will certainly pass on our recommendation.
As it happens, my boss is CEO for Metaswitch Networks, a north London computing software company. We work quite closely with your sister hotel, the West Lodge, where we hold all our graduate recruitment dinners and overnight stays. I have visited the West Lodge on many occasions, but have never had the pleasure of Beales.

I stayed at your hotel on Monday, 2nd July. May I say that it was one of the most comfortable hotels I have stayed in (I travel a lot and stay in many hotels). You have very clean lines, with muted colours, very restful. I dined in and the food was very good, with a varied menu. Pleasant, helpful staff throughout the hotel.

Just to feedback that we had an enjoyable stay recently on friday 1st and saturday 2nd july. The rooms are nice and modern, breakfast was great, staff all very helpful and polite especially the bar staff you had on both nights, price was also very good at £130 for 2 nights b&b so we would have no qualms staying again. Only small gripe is cost of a large Pinot at £7.95 a glass which is still about £2 more than standard prices but i appreciate we are paying Hotel prices for drinks, also a suggestion would be to fill up rooms near to the reception area i.e. rooms 1-10 last as they are closest to the bar and function room so when you have either a wedding or as in our case a school prom on, you can hear the noise until about 1am and not ideal if you are looking for an early night after a long day. Overall it was a good experience and one we shall certainly repeat again if the price remains the same.

We had an excellent stay thank you – I sent an email yesterday to Andrew saying thank you for your kind hospitality by allowing my husband Chris and I to stay on Friday night.
We really enjoyed our stay, however brief, and found the staff in particular to be excellent and very friendly. You have a really good team there who went out of their way to sort out an issue we had with a taxi company and resolved the situation for us even though it was very late at night.

I would just like to pass on my thanks and congratulations to you for the very fine hotel that you have at Hatfield. I had the pleasure of staying at your hotel on 1 May to 3 May 2010.
I was surprised after reading the guest information that I had in fact visited the hotel before in 1970 when I had my wedding ceremony in the octagonal building that was part of the original Hatfield Lodge Hotel. I remember the distinctive red wood panelling.
You have created a distinctive hotel that I would say is the best in which I have stayed. Even some of Sydney's top Hotels, cannot match the service and quality of the accommodation. I will be recommending the hotel to friends and I am pleased to have found you on the WOTIF website a site that I use frequently in Australia.
I grew up in Hatfield and I come back every couple of years to visit family who still live locally. Hatfield has changed since I left in 1970 and I am sorry to say not for the better so finding such a gem of a hotel was a most pleasant surprise. I will definitely be staying in your hotel again.

I just wanted to send a note to say thank you to all the Beales Hotel staff for their support during our (PPD Inc.) last stay at the Beales from September 14-18, 2009.
We had a large group staying at the hotel for a meeting at the hotel on the 15th and then off-site meetings the remainder of the week. Clare Markham was fantastic, during the reservations stage of planning for this tirp, and I just was someone to know how much we appreciated her assistance. She responded quickly, was flexible and patient, as we had to make many changes over a 2-week period. I did not hear of any errors with reservations, and everyone loved their hotel rooms. I would also like to thank Amy Tregidgo, who helped with scheduling the conference room on the 15th of September. Regardless, of my slow response on occassion, Amy ensured that we had a place to meet, and for that I am truly grateful. One last thank you goes to Linda Purton. During my last two visits to the Beale, Linda has always been so accommodating and sure to offer assistance in any way. Linda went so far as to make iced tea for those of us from Texas, which was greatly appreciated.back to top

I found all of your staff to provide an excellent level of service from the check-in/out reception to the restaurant/room-service staff.
The standard of hotel/room decor was exceptional and the quality of the rooms and standard items provided therein were exactly those i would expect from a quality establishment.
Dinner in the restaurant was also of an excellent standard and value for money. I will have no hesitancy in using your hotel in the future if the need arises.

I get the impression that while you see the need to make a profit, there’s a greater need to exceed expectations. Decent coffee and complimentary pastries made our day. There are so many other points I could mention as it’s rare to be treated so well.
