The painting is an abstract piece focusing on the architectural detail in St Albans Abbey, St Albans. I find that elements of architecture are overpowering and grand, I am interested in the interplay of architectural detail, space, light and atmosphere. The painting displays aspects of colour in terms of contrasting colours, depth of colour and the intensity of colour. There is also an interesting interplay between the under painting and the actual painting.
