My current work consists of large textile pieces containing indecipherable screen printed text which has always been a crucial part of my work; it challenges the sighted viewer to interpret the printed text presented to them. The tactility of the printed text draws them to explore further yet gives no clue as to the real meaning of the words, and remains visually inaccessible. The physical yet repetitious process of screen-printing is a direct response to my recent loss of vision, perfection is visually unattainable but the finished pieces with their imperfections are a more accurate record of the visual frustrations and limitations they represent.
